Project “Smarter Grid”
In the “Smarter Grid” project, E. ON selected four different locations in Sweden with the aim of minimizing both the number of unplanned outages and, the total downtimefor the customer. Techinova delivered a solution for one of the selected locations, Kisa outside Norrköping.
Project Smarter Grid.
Techinova has delivered and commissioned the project in collaboration with Eltel Networks for the installation works. The delivery included five autoreclosers (relays with relay protection) moving the intelligence into the power distribution network and, inter alia, enabling sectioning, fault indication and network quality measurement. Two distribution networks interacts withfour existing remote automated switches.
The equipment shall automatically disconnect fault sections and re-section the networks to minimize the number of affected customers. Autoreclosers and remote switches communicates with E. ON's SCADA system Eldorado through the TechiNode™ communication RTU with TETRA communication. This allows the operator to be updated with current switching modes. When designing the system, known disturbance statistics were taken into consideration in order to find out the optimal location of the Techinova devices.
